Unemployment Appeals - when you are charged with Concealment

Updated: Jul 1, 2022

It's a scary thing to be charged with "concealment." This can happen when you make a mistake reporting your income to the Department of Workforce Development (DWD.) Many Wisconsinites have been shocked to find out they must pay back thousands of dollars to the State and worse, that they face criminal penalties.

Remember always appeal!

This gives you time to prepare your case and decide if you need legal help. It is possible to overturn a concealment case.

If you do end up owing money, you may be able to get a payment plan spread over three years. Talk to an attorney immediately if you get a letter demanding payment.
